My partner and I rented a property through them for about 14 months. They were ok whilst renting and got any problems sorted out, although it always took a few days for them to get approval for works from a landlord that lives overseas.
Problems have mainly come towards the end of our tenancy and after.
Firstly, when it came to the end of the initial 12 months they sent out a letter saying that if we wanted to sign up for another 12 month contract we would have to pay the relevant application fees. they made no attempt to suggest a rolling month contract (which means there are no application fees) so when I raised the suggestion they got straight onto the landlord and a few days later confirmed that we could stay and wouldn't have to pay a penny!
Secondly, since we moved out we have been waiting for the return of our deposit for over 6 weeks now. it is allegedly held in a government protected scheme and so they have a duty by law to agree the deposit within 10 days. Sadly they have failed to return the money as yet and I am having to raise a dispute with through the protected scheme. what is most frustrating is that since we moved out, they have not made one phonecall or written one single letter about the return of our deposit, they have left it to us to call them.
To sum up, they can rent you a property but be mindful there are likely to be problems.
What agent could do to change your mind?
I am not going to sign up for something I know nothing about.
