Most horrible experience. Great at the point of selling their services, tonnes of promisses. In reality - worse than nothing. I chose them to sell my property back in July. Also instructed them and paid for EPC. Photos of the house were made by a phone camera by head of branch - looked dreadful (should have stopped there and than, but trusted them as 9 years ago purchased this property from this manager and this branch). End of October - 4 vewings, none successsfull. Have not heard from them at all - had to call myself and every time would have to listen for 20 minutes of bla bla re market situation and number of clicks on my web page etc. Stoped dealing with them end of October and started marketing my property with Hamptons in the middle of November (rejected them at first place as thought they would be expencive - they are in fact cheaper than BE). So far 23 vewings, 3 offers (lower than I would accept, but ...)
Hamptons assigned a manager to me, sent a team of three people to make photos, develope house description and a surveyer. Perfect quality of print materials, fantastic customer service (phoning me after every vewing with very detailed report and sugestions, no vewings - phone me anyway twice a week just to keep me updated on what is going on. Found several properies for me to buy - two of them spot on, arranged financial support, Extremely friendly and active). Now the fun bit - EPC that BE should have produced for me back in July - neverd done actually.
Asked them to send it to me several times since October - no reply. Finally got in touch with the manager on the phone - he said that he does not have any info that EPC was produced (although I have papers with instructions from me and payments details). But, he said, this is OK, many people got away with not having EPC in time, the main thing is to have it at the point of contract exchange. I don't want to get away with this. Thanks to BE I was in breach of the law for nearly half a year!!!!!! Also, two weeks ago the property just next to us burnt out totally and is now a demolition site. This brought perspective of selling my property to next to nothing. If only I'd gone stright to Hamptons without wasting my time on BE, my property would have been sold by now and I would have been enjoying Christmas in my new home.
Thought of complaining to BE headquarters - guess what? No info could be found on where to write customer complaint. Neither on the internet, nore on the phone. Ridiculous. Worst agency ever!!!!!!!! Please, please think 3 times before going with them.
