We recently moved from the north of England to London and had to battle to find a place to live. We never expected it to be so hard. The first company we dealt with let us know 48 hours before we were due to move down that our new flat wouldn't be ready for a further 2 weeks, leaving us homeless. The second company fared better until the references began... More than 3 weeks after that process started, a decision still hadn't been made (the previous check took 3 days and we passed with no problem). At this point, we decided we couldn't trust letting agents again and looked into private landlords, which in itself is a whole kind of fresh hell (you need to be quicker than the road runner if you want a place, and even then it's not always enough).

So absolutely fed up, and with our hastily-arranged temporary accommodation coming to an end about a week later, I turned to this very website and found the reviews for Streets Ahead very favourable, and we had no choice but to give letting agents one more go at finding us a place to live. Let me just say that I am so glad we chose this company.

Our agent, Chris Maher, was brilliant from start to finish. He was polite, always delivered what he said he would (and on time), was very easy to contact, and most importantly found us a wonderful place to rent that we love. In a time of extreme stress and worry, Chris went above and beyond to help us, and we can't thank him enough.

Normally you'd only review a service if it was particularly bad (why would you write about a service you expect to get from someone just doing their job?), but because our previous experiences were so bad, we wanted to let people know that there are people out there who are good at what they do. Chris is one of those people, and then some.

Speaking to friends, they've had similarly bad experiences with other letting agents, which makes it all the rarer when you come across a good one. We thoroughly recommend Streets Ahead and Chris, in particular.
