My first experience of letting through an agent and not one I'd be quick to repeat. We are halfway through a twelve month tenancy and at this moment we're not 100% sure what we plan beyond that. We love the house but have had and are continuing to have issues dealing with Reeds Rains which would go away if we were dealing directly with the landlord. The spark that has initiated this is after having called their maintenance "helpline" several times and being put through to the only person who deals with my property only for her to not pick up the phone. I have to continually leave my office, annoying my boss, to make these calls because their "24 helpline" is only open during office hours. She is there, apparently, but has been on the phone all day. This is in an effort to solve a problem with a faulty boiler which I've have had to call many more times about in the past, have had four engineer visits, have had to book two days off work because they don't do repairs at the weekend and still isn't solved.
We have made an official complaint before about being overcharged for fees when we applied, along with some other issues, and got some of the fees refunded (after asking twice we are finally getting them paid back nearly six months later, we are assured, this week,) but were told it was the fault of someone who has now left the company so it's not their responsibility.
We had a six-monthly landlord's check this weekend, the person from Reeds Rains turned up without their checklist, so had no clue what the property should have been like, had no idea who our landlord or we were (kept referring to her as a 'he,') and just went "yeah, it's fine" and buggered off!
There are more issues, but I'm sick of wasting my time on them when they care not one jot about their customers or their concerns or complaints. Terrible, terrible company.
