Myself and my two flatmates moved into our property in August, in our viewing we were rushed around the property with certain flaws in the property being well concealed from us by the member of staff escorting us around. Damp walls, a pathetic excuse for a shower, broken hobs, dodgy fridge, a massively dangerous sparking hoover... These are the things you discover only after a few weeks of living.
On contacting SB about this issues, they were initially apologetic and seemed to be very active about getting the repairs completed for us. After another month, nothing had been done. It took us until November 13th before anything was completed... and with that it was only a couple of lights that got fixed. So, over three months into our lease we are still without a fully working hob, and now have no hoover as it broke 3 weeks ago and they still haven't replaced it!
In our three short months of being here, we have been inspected 3 times, basically without any say for us. The estate agents are only too quick to mention they have keys and are willing to use them to access the property.
I would urge anyone to steer as far clear of this sham of a company as they possibly can. They are completely unprofessional, it feels like we are doing their job for them instead of the job we pay 11% extra on rent for them to do.
You will see the exact kind of customer service they are capable of if you phone them at their office. Greeted with: "Hello" and nothing else, isn't exactly friendly and welcoming, unsure now I had got the correct number I asked: "is this Simpson Brebner Lettings?"... "Yep". I then went on to explain my issues with my property and the unkind man on the phone merely stated: "Yeah you didn't need to tell me all that, I'll transfer you to the property management" and that was it.
I'm not petty and pathetic... but that is disgraceful on top of everything else. It seems that this "company" has forgotten what it is to work to sell in the abundant letting market that is Aberdeen, and they make no effort to please existing customers.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Actually made an effort.
