If you're a tenant, SAB are all about getting your money. Every year they increase the rent above the rate of the inflation, and in the same letter they explain the steps of terminating your agreement if you don't pay. They have a bogus maintenance and repair service that takes ages to address repairs needed in the houses, and they often come with pre-used equipment as replacements to save even more money. You'll also be lucky if you get the one who doesn't steal your possessions.
Their staff are rude and unhelpful, and aren't very supportive to the first time buyer or tenant. Their landlords have the same attitude as they do; its almost like they sit down together and come up with schemes to yield the most money through various charges. Expect to pay hundreds of pounds in application, and referencing costs before setting foot in your rented home/room. And then after you pay, you'll be waiting for days before you hear anything.
I have had to contact the Agents Association once or twice about them in confidence about their behaviour.
Most of the time, the landlords are oblivious to the experiences SAB is putting their tenants through, and it's a shame that they offer their houses to them.
