Very poor experience with estate agents. Completely different experience when dealing with other firms. They offered a valuation but almost immediately stressed the need to drop the price. It felt that they valued the property at 'x' to get the business then to drop to get a quick sale. Areas of advertising and marketing were removed without informing us including the statement, 'no-one looks at Zoopla!'
Telephone calls to prospective buyers were misrepresented in that an offer had already been made which wasn't relayed to us, instead we received a call saying, 'if you'd accept 'x' I'll call them and see if they're interested'. They later got their stories mixed up which proved this.
Contact ceased for several months with estate agents not making 'keeping in touch' calls. When contact was made staff were rude and difficult to deal with. Once they had the business they seemed to forget who they were representing and who the customer was.
Problems with timing of completion on behalf of our buyer were misrepresented on the phone with threats of our buyer to pull out if we didn't complete by a certain time. We later learned that conversations had taken place with our buyer several days earlier and the 'urgency' was kept from us for days. In discussions with the estate agents whose property we were buying we were informed of conversations with FH that had resolved some issues which were never relayed to us by FH. When FH told us of potential problems we requested they called us back when they had spoken to our buyer. They consistently never called us back.
On the day of the sale they were aware of issues but never called to see if all was okay. They never expressed gratitude for the business or sought feedback.
Compared to the estate agent whose marketed property we bought the experience was night and day.
