Let's start from the beginning.
Keys of the property delivered with delay the day before Easter. I basically had no more than a couple of hours to buy the essential (including food and sheets for the bed). No whatsoever consideration for the fact that I really risked to be stranded in a completely empty house with no food for two days.
Also, the status of the property. When I saw the flat the first time with the agent, Mr Pervinder Brar, it was in an "disturbing" state, to say it lightly. But he assured me they would have called "professional cleaners" to get the flat ready. When I moved in, the reality was that the flat remained basically the same. The fridge stank so much it took me an entire night to be able only to be close to it.
When I gave my notice to leave, they let me know about the penalty to pay based on the introduction fee for the remaining months. I simply asked proof of the percentage normally paid by the landlady, since it was not written in the contract. For this simple question, I had to exchange dozens and dozens emails with Mr. James Meltzer, who apparently failed to understand such a simple question. After a drew a block diagram they finally understood my query and provided the document.
But the nicest thing about this Agent was that how they calculated the amount for the penalty I had to pay for breaching the contract before its natural end. I signed the contract in April 2012 and I left October 2013. So from October 2013 to April 2013 there are 6 months of fees to be paid. But, because after the first year for whatever reason (of course nothing depending on me) we signed the renewal late in May, they calculated the months of return commission up to May 2013. So according to them, in April 2013 I lived in the flat without a contract.
I my opinion this is unfair. When I asked them to explain to me under which contractual condition I payed the rent that I did pay In April 2013, I received no answer.
Close to my moving date I remember going to the office asking questions to Mr. Brar, about next steps, when to pay my penalty etc .. . I remember he almost didn't have a clue of what I was talking about. If it wasn't for me, I could even have left without returning the keys.
In a year and a half of living in London, this Agent was absolutely the worst experience I had.
I don't know about the others, but I would certainly NOT recommend this one ever.

We are disappointed to read your review of our service, as you will see from our other reviews, this is not a typical response from one of our customers and I would assure you of our best intentions at all times. We appreciate your comments regarding the condition of the property at move in, however you were aware there were no contractors available to clean the property before Easter, and you agreed for the contractors to make you their first port of call after Easter as you wanted to move in to the property before our office closed for the Easter period, we understood that we were acting in your best interest.
Regarding the period where there was no fixed term agreement in place, whilst you initially moved in to the property in April, your renewal terms were not agreed between you and your landlord until after the expiration of your fixed term tenancy, (please be assured that we chase landlords and tenants for a decision to renew their tenancy as far as 2 months in advance of their renewal date to avoid such occurrences), in such an instance you remain on what is known as a periodic tenancy until both landlord and tenant agree on the terms of the new fixed term tenancy. (This includes the start date of the new contract).
Regarding the terms for a tenant breaking their contract, it is not our practice to inform our customers on what terms they may break their contract as, of course, they should not. However this information is of course given when necessary. We are sorry you felt so strongly about writing this review, I hope I have now clarified our position for you.
Kind regards
