We used Ocean in quite a few capacities. They let out a flat or ours and we tried to buy through them whilst also using their Ocean Property Lawyers service as well. We chose to do this as our sellers were using them and we thought this would give a smoother purchase if both parties were using the same company.
In summary each service we used was as bad as the last.
The letting team rarely called to keep us in the loop, frequently booked in viewings without giving the current tenant sufficient notice and blamed us for the short notice despite not having told us when they had booked viewings! They were unhelpful and if we ever had a query, it always seemed like we were inconveniencing them. We had to chase them every step of the way, and even to release security deposits for previous tenants, they were short, unhelpful and made the whole process unpleasant. We shan't be using them again.
This can be applied to their sales team also. We tried to purchase a property that unfortunately was on the market with Ocean. The same theme occurred. Slow, never return calls, never seem to know what's going on, we always had to chase or we found out from other sources before we were told by Ocean. Generally a painful experience from start to finish.
Ocean property lawyers were also sub-standard. Advice was little at best and didn't instill confidence.
The theme running through all of this is a very low level of service in every respect. I shall not use them again and would certainly not recommend them to anyone else.
they Terrible level of customer service, I cannot believe they are still in business. No follow up, have to be repeatedly chased. When we let our property through them they called the existing tenant the night before they had appointments to show around prospective tenants and blamed us for the short notice, despite the fact that they hadn't even told us they were showing people around yet. I could write many things about the poor level of service they offer but in essence their level of customer service and ethics are dreadful. If you can possibly avoid using them, I would very much recommend doing so.
