The worst letting agent ever. ***** ******* is the rudest person I have ever come across. Moved to another property with a different agent and it took us18 months to get our deposit back. Cannot stress enough how much you should avoid this agent like the plague. Please learn by our mistake - this company is dreadful and the sooner they go out of business the better.

Admin note: Agent's name has been removed.

Deposits are sent out within seven working days with an accompanying statement of receiving all the stamped and receipted final bills such as gas, electric etc in accordance with the Tenancy Agreement. THis is done to avoid black marks against the property which can cause incoming tenants to have to pay large deposits to British Gas, Southern Electric etc. Hardly fair play to new occupants. By law all deposits have to be registered with one of three government shemes. If a tenant feels unhappy about deductions from his/her deposit or the lack of its return they can take their complaint to the scheme to mediate and reach a solution. This person could have done that if he had been unfairly treated but clearly did not because he/she/they failed to comply with the terms of the Agreement by vacating and leaving outstanding bills behind and left the incomimg tenant unfairly with the possibility of a large deposit as above or a black mark/poor credit against the landlord's property. They therefore have no real grievance at all but like many in the wrong have to hit out where and when they can to justify their lack of right and wrong. Attack does not make their behaviour right or acceptable. Neither do comments made under a false name. A cowardly attack with no substance

It is interesting to look over the reviews here. Clearly the agents woke up to the fact that there were a series of appalling reviews, around May last year, and they began to respond. And simultaneously, there miraculously appeared a group of glowing reviews! How ...

Chimneys were asked to value this property in Childrey. As soon as the valuer arrived she was informed that they had somebody for the property from the village and they wanted to let it to them. They explained that Chimneys had been recommended by a tenant of Chimneys and on that basis the valuer remained and gave a verbal valuation. After walking round the house she suggested that they asked anything they wanted to know abouit lettings because otherwise she may talk too much. They replied th ...

‘John’ & ‘Jenny’ are a couple. They were thoroughly shown over the property by the owner and a Chimneys’ staff member. They agreed a much reduced rent & a shorter let with the owner in return for an early entry date, they agreed they would move kitchen units & activate the alarm at their own expense. Despite signing our Terms & Conditions, ‘John’ refused to allow us to take up a bank ref saying they had £100,000 in the bank etc. They believed t ...
