As executor, I initially met with a number of agents with a view to marketing my late parent's home. I wanted to find an agent who understood the nature of the sale we were undertaking, i.e. someone who was sympathetic to our position and was content that the sale would not take place immediately.
After an 18 month period, during which time he kept us up to date with developing market conditions, we eventually chose Mick Gooding of Gascoigne-Pees, Tadley.
I am very impressed with both Mick and his team. They kept me informed of market conditions and
recommended a marketing strategy of suggesting a guide price for the property, then having an open day.
Frankly, I was slightly concerned, as the figure I had in mind for the guide price was well below what I thought we should achieve. After careful consideration I decided I should 'leave it to the experts'. The team at Gascoigne-Pees kept me fully informed throughout the process, allowing me input on both the brochure and web details and then informing me on how many viewings we had for the open house. Importantly, they assessed all the offers which the guide price had generated and then carefully analysed what the potential buyer's positions were.
I am absolutely delighted with the price that was finally achieved. During the process Gascoigne-Pees continued to make sure the buyer did not drag his feet and I am very impressed that we got to exchange on the date that was originally suggested by their team.
I would not hesitate to recommend Gascoigne-Pees - they achieved an excellent result!
