They were very charming when initially meet - do not be fooled by this! Full details of my offer were not passed on to vendor, misleading information provided regarding fees. Currently compiling a complaint to the Property Ombudsman as they stubbornly refuse to accept any liability. Avoid Knight & Rennie, stick to the better estate agents situated on the Parade. Connells and Wiglesworth were far more professional in my previous house moves.

Jul 19, 2011We sold Mr & Mrs Yates property for the asking price and also found them a new home. Upon moving in to their new home they called us aghast that the previous owner had not left a number of fixtures. Mr & Mrs Yates were perfectly well aware of what would be left at the property but inspite of this tried to take action against Knight & Rennie. The ombudsmen repudiated Mr & Mrs Yates claim for several thousand pounds and awarded them just £200 for a small procedural error that we have now taken steps to correct. Mr & Mrs Yates sought at every step of the process to look for a way to get money from us and they made the process quite harrowing for both us and their lawyer.

I had to pay my fees upfront in cash, with no option of card and would have preferred the card option (at the Kenilworth branch). However, so far I feel the estate agent fees have been well spent with excellent service. I hope their quality of service continues.
