Andrews Bath could not do anything more to demonstrate what is at best apathy and at worst contempt towards me as a customer. The state of the industry is something which companies such as Andrews should be ashamed of. Have you no pride?! The fact that every honest tenant lives in fear of being defrauded with respect to deposit deductions, and that is not to mention the completely inflated administration charges that many in the industry apply.

In terms of how they have behaved during my tenancy...

on the day we were shown round the house, the current resident family came back to find us tramping around upstairs their house in our shoes (I asked if I should take them off and was told no) and had apparently not even been informed of our visit. I was mortified however they took it well, perhaps they were just filled with joy to be getting off the barrel over which Andrews had been bending them.

I was called a liar (in those words) because the self important woman at the agency had not listened to what I had told her and she had therefore told the landlord incorrect information.

I could go on about the impossible to contact staff and the general despicable disregard that the staff seem to have for tenants (and landlords alike from what I read), but wont in the interest of time.

having been a student recently, who are meant to be treated very badly in general, I can confirm that I have never felt so bullied and never been treated with so much disdain as when I have had the misfortune to unwittingly stroll into the money making machine that is Andrews.

I cannot express my disgust emphatically enough.
What agent could do to change your mind?
value your customer. the use and abuse culture that you operate is despicable.

The agency helped in keep the fees at reasonable level but I would say some of the extra services provided was unnecessary and should be included in the initial fees. For example the tenancy agreement fee I expect this to be part of the package and the extra admin fees to get the deposit registered or get a gas certificate completed. I would say the inventory is a good service and reasonable.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed).
