I own a property in Bromley and I was letting it out via Andrew Reeves. There were three problems:
1) They did not communicate well - an important email of mine was ignored - Andrew Reeves' response was to ask me to sign the renewal contract a few weeks later - even though an important change had not been made. I followed this up and this appears to have been deliberate - it wasn't an oversight. Andrew Reeves just didn't want to address the issue and communicate to me.
2) Andrew Reeves seem to adjust their prices each year according to a national average. This works badly if the property in question is not average for one reason or another. I think the reason for this is that their real office is in Nottingham - where all the decisions are made. Therefore, no local knowledge is used and nobody makes an effort to find things out. Therefore, their pricing is as impersonal as the service.
3) Even though my property was completely new, it seemed to require work to the boiler a huge amount. Over a period of 10 years, boiler repairs alone cost me well over £15,000. I think the local plumbers know that Andrew Reeves are careless with other people's money. To Andrew Reeves and the plumbers they employ, I'm like a faceless cash machine rather than a person. They think you won't notice because it's a constant drip-drip-drip of expense over the years.
