Tenants left house dirty, stains on carpets, marks on walls and doors and items missing for which no explanation was ever given. Check out inventory was poor, many of above items missed by MBM, either I had to point them out, or I discovered things later-too late. I felt what compensation I was offered was way too low, some repairs were attended to, but others- I got the impression they just couldn't be bothered.
I was always having to chase Helen 'in a meeting' Hudson, I waited 3 weeks for an email back from MBM at one point.
It was only when the property had not been re let that I was then told it needed work doing on it- and it was removed from their list "as it is not in a suitable condition to advertise" Hmm, didn't say that at first when you hoped for a new tenant..
Having emailed Helen to say MBM's services were no longer required, I didn't even get the courtesy of a reply. Avoid if you're a landlord. If you're a tenant, you'll be laughing as you can treat the property without any care and it won't cost you a bean!
What agent could do to change your mind?
Communication could have been much better.
Agent could have done much more to have made tenants keep property in better condition, e.g.they didn't even expect carpets to be cleaned on vacating property (every other letting agent expects this)
Agent failed to get tenants to sign standing order. I was the one chasing them for the rent at one point.
