I read a lot about Foxton being a bad estate agent, but I thought maybe thoose people just had bad luck with people that are now fired from the company.
God was I wrong, I Have Never In My Life been treated worse...
They harass you on the phone, try to push the prices more than what its worth and say cheese things, well that's NOTHING compared to what Foxton do.
Today I meet with a guy called Nick, he was first asking a lot of personal questions and asking about how many flats I've seen. I said maybe 20-30, he started laughing telling my budget of (1700 per month for a studio) IS NOTHING and its such a tight budget what do I except, that I was weird etc etc. I tried to explain that I still thought that 1700£ is a pretty decent amount to spend on a studio and that I'm not use to classic British standards. In the next flat he showed me he mocked me and said "well come on something must be wrong tell me". After that I started feeling really uncomfortable.
The next flat he was going to show me was in another area so we went in the awful mini cooper car to another part of Kensington (notting hill) to be exact. While in the car another agent called me and told me that the landlord accepted my offer, he guy from Foxton Nick overheard our conversation and was annoyed. I was not sure if my offer was going to be accepted with the other agency so of course I looked at other options. I told him yes my offer got accepted but I would still like to see the last flat.
When we arrived he then told me to stay in the car and wait there while he went into another office to get keys for the flat we where going to see...
After about one minute after he left the car alarms went off. I tried to get the door open to run away from the terrible loud sound, but the doors were locked. I tried EVERY button in the car to get out but nothing. I suffer from an ear disorder called tinnitus, so I have earplugs whenever I go to a bar and nightclubs/concert is just a no no for me. I got a panic attack in the car when after 3-4 minutes with the alarm sound, my ears hurting like crazy and the guy had not showed up!! I had to take out the fingers from my ears and call med guy and it took him 2 MINUTES until he arrived. I screamed please come back the alarm! And I saw him just walking easy breezy on this way back to the car. I think he did it on purpose because he was angry that he knew I was not going to offer on any of the flats he just shown me because of the other offer. My mom was on the phone while all this happen and heard that the alarm went on for over 6 minutes.
When he came back he didn't even say sorry like he meant it, just well the windows was down so the alarm went off. I was shaking by then off the shock and then I asked him for this manager/boss phone number to report this.
I called the manager/boss Amit and he was SO RUDE. He told me this when I asked what they would do now and I quote "we are not going to do ANYTHING for you, I'm not going to do anything" and then he hanged up.
I do not wish my worst enemies this treatment. I do not wish tinnitus open anyone in this world and to not even say sorry sincerely is just awful.
What agent could do to change your mind?
