Agent contacted us as soon as we declared an interest on Rightmove and arranged an early viewing and re-arranged when we could not travel because of snow. Rachel met us at the property at the agreed time and showed us around with the owner. After the weekend Rachel telephoned us and obtained our offer and did her client a good turn by getting us to increase our offer! The legalities of the transaction became very protracted but Rachel frequently contacted us with updates. Sometimes the updates did not tell us very much but I can sympathise with Rachel as often our solicitor could not obtain meaningful answers either! Rachel and her colleagues must have spent a lot of time on this case so both vendor and buyer benefitted from an active agency. I know agents do not generally meet buyers at the property with the keys after completion but this would have been a nice final touch rather than have to go to the agent's office. Unfortunately, Thomas Morris asked us whether we would mind having a 'Sold' board up after it was installed. This seemed unwise to me since the vendor had no 'For Sale' board and it was quickly removed at my request. From my experience as the buyer in this case I would say that Thomas Morris and Rachel in particular served their client the vendor very well.
