We got shown our property by a man named Kia. He said the property was owned by his "friend" (after speaking to the landlord, they had never met or spoken). He purposely opened the windows of the property to try to cover the smoke smell ad denied there was a smoke smell after being questioned. He said we needed to confirm that day if we wanted the property as "professional footballers" were having a second viewing the next day (the landlord found that laughable).
After asking if there was any manoeuvre on price, Kia said definitely not. The following day I called the manager and asked the same question and managed to get £25 per month knocked off the price. When speaking to the landlord, Kia had actually increased the price of the flat per month that was agreed with the landlord in the first place, which would be of no benefit to him, so it still confuses me.
Kia also informed us there was no other 2nd/3rd/4th floor flats in the area, they were only ground floor. After speaking to the manager, that was also a lie.
I asked the manager if a mattress would be included in the property. He said definitely not, the landlord would not provide it. 2 weeks later, we received a call from the landlord asking if we wanted a mattress.
When we got through to signing the contract for the property, the fees were huge. They said my partner could sign the contract without me being there and then complained when I did not arrive.
They told us we needed contents insurance before we could get the keys to the property. They told us originally that they would provide these quotes one week before signing the contract. They sent them the day we had to sign.
They told us we had 10 days to cancel the insurance (which you will have to as the quotes they provide are double the cost of anywhere else). I rang every day for a whole week to cancel and kept getting ignored. I eventually got quite angry on the phone and then received a call back off the manager shouting at me! Saying he had sorted it, AFTER 7 PHONECALLS!
NEVER go with Bridgfords in Washington.

Please tell me what part of the above comment is exaggerated. The landlord can confirm the information is correct and I have evidence of the phone calls.
