1st time was great, so I used them again, big mistake, never again!
Started off okay, but time after time, viewers complained to me about lack of knowledge, indifference and lost details, lack of follow up to the point that they asked if they could deal directly with me rather than them. It then started to happen to me as a seller, whereby we stopped receiving weekely updates, never had a single instance of feedback, appointment follow ups weren't followed through and since I complained 6 weeks ago, suddenly, all interest appears to have stopped - zero!. Having complained to the director, again, I can only say the response was appalling, abusive and I was told that basically, I'm making things up because I haven't sold, whereby I pointed out particular issues which were not addressed an the response was extremely defensive. I have never had such a poor response to anything, he has totally missed the points and basically will not accept any criticism or take any responsibility. Would be wary of using online agents again, as there is no come back if you get a poor service, you pay your fee and hope for the best. Where is there incentive when you pay upfront??
What agent could do to change your mind?
He could have addressed the issues and investigated them, at least accepted responsibility and apologised, not use blanket statements as to how good they are.
He could also have refrained from being abusive!!

Yes
This property is, sadly, too optimistically priced and we have advised the seller that in order to achieve a sale, the price should be lowered. The very best of agents are not going to be able to sell a home that the market considers to be too expensive, relatively speaking. And, of course, enquiries will be hard to come by as the listing 'sticks' as such.
Are we defensive when tackling such a complaint? Yes, of course we will defend our position and tell it how it is. We're pretty straight talking but certainly not in any way abusive. That's just not a true representation of the situation here. But if it's honesty in our approach we're being criticised for, then that's something we can live with.
Online estate agents are no different to High Street agents in how they market properties for sale in the main. We all use the major portal sites like Rightmove etc but eMoov's concept is to advertise on them all, so increasing the likelihood of a sale. In the event that a buyer is hard to come by, it is not the type of agent that should be questioned but the breadth of their marketing and, in particular, the price that is asked that is generally the reason. Price is always ultimately controlled by the seller.
We sold this person's first property. We would sell this one too if the seller would just adjust their price.
