Myself and my husband were both really impressed with the service from Elephant. We made the decision to go with them as estate agents primarily because we had met Matthew Bailey whilst viewing one of the properties in Elephant's portfolio, and had asked his opinion about another property we were buying. Matthew had gone out of his way to talk to us at length and in detail about the prospective purchase (not with his estate company) and was willing to give his professional and personal opinion willingly for no commercial gain. Alec was also very helpful and patient in all his dealings with us, and managed to combine a dryness of humour with an utterly professional and honest attitude which made the experience of selling with Elephant feel easy and transparent at all times. Neither Alec or Matthew are at all pushy or aggressive in their approach - they are clearly experienced estate agents who were able to convince us with hard facts and statistics that it was worth putting our house on the market before we made an offer on one we wanted to buy, and that we should deviate from the typical marketing format that we had insisted on initially. In this respect, both Alec and Matthew have innovative, well researched ideas that are implemented to the benefit of vendors.
Elephant is a professional company, but one that has a really personal and friendly feel to it; it is certainly not like using a typical run of the mill corporate firm or chain. There was none of the expected sleaze or exaggerated 'estate agent speak', rather their approach was honest, direct and professional but with a touch of humour.
I would not hesitate to recommend using Elephant to anyone wanting to sell or buy a house in the Bristol area. Apart from supporting a local business, you will be guaranteed an attentive and personal service.
