CONNELLS ABINGDON Worst estates agency ever and poorly behaved managing. DO NOT TRUST, either for selling or buying a property. I have experienced the worst encounter with the senior branch manager Miss C-R White. For the past 6 weeks, I have started the process of buying a 1bed property in Reade Avenue, Abingdon. The objective of this investment was for my son to live while studying at University in Oxford. White has took over the administration of the sale from a young employee who has since left or made redundant from her job. White has done nothing than misleading me or the vendor as she refused several times to transfer my messages to the seller/owner of the property, those messages were related to negotiation. Which lead me to offer full asking price but later on I found out through valuation than the property is worth far less. So I went back to her as she is supposed to be the one to mediate between me and the seller. She simply REFUSED to go back to the seller with my new offer which was reflecting the valuation report. Outrageous!!! Beware homeowners and investors, her favourite word is “confused”, a tactic to misleading. So miss «I am confused » has crashed the sale, less than 24hr after the seller agreed to a £5000 discount. Yes, you read it well. All because of a misplaced ego. Miss White this is your role, to deal with people in a kindly manner, specially people that's paying you commission to deal with their property. This was the most appealing behaviour and poorly professionalism, dishonest I have ever experienced in the world of buying and selling property. What a disgrace and a dishonour to your own title, senior branch manager and to your profession, estate's agent. So, please do not fall for her «confusion» game. CONNELLS Estate's agent in Abingdon is to be AVOID at any cost. They will make you lose your hard earned money, in fees to broker, solicitors and valuer. All because, they refuse to do a proper job. And moreover, at the time of writing this review, it has been more than 48hr that I am awaiting a formal withdrawal letter outlying the reasons the seller has dropped the sale. After several exchange of emails she told me to go to my solicitors and tell them about the withdrawal, that I do not need a letter. She will only give the letter when her administrator will return to work. But when miss White??? Simply appealing. Those are the kind of people who fails businesses. She is failing CONNELLS GROUP and the panel of Connells Group's investors. This branch in Abingdon is definitely bringing a bad image to Connells Group and investors. Avoid at any cost Connells Estates Agencies.

Dec 11, 2024We are sorry you are not satisfied with the outcome, we too are disappointed that we could not make it work on this occasion. However, unfortunately, as we had explained, the vendor made the decision to withdraw from the transaction and that they would not be re marketing the property. All offers made by you were put forward the same day you made them, at which you have all copies in letter form by email which are date stamped. There has been very clear communication through this process and when you have asked for help we have always responded the same day. The vendor advised on the 9th December they wish to withdraw and you were notified the same day in writing. The withdrawal letters were issued to you at 8am on the 11th December. You advised you needed the withdrawal letters to stop the transaction but I had advised you that my email, along with your email to your solicitor would be sufficient also. Likewise, the communication with the vendor, which is documented in writing, clearly logs the suggestion to re-negotiate at which they declined this offer. The vendor made the decision to withdraw and not to re market for the foreseeable. Unfortunately, your solicitors had advised that no legal work had taken place and there was no existing mortgage offer since the sale was agreed 6 weeks ago. We therefore took our vendors instruction to withdraw from all marketing. Once again we are sorry this is not the outcome you had hoped for and we wish you well in the future.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.

Do anything you can to avoid buying or selling through Connells. They are absolutely dreadful across the board. The staff are incompetent and made crucial errors, such as neglecting to instruct a solicitor even after I had completed the instruction form. Their staff consistently lied to me and were ...
