Went to view a property with this company, having previously explained on the phone that there will be 3 of requiring a flat (me my boyfriend of 2 1/2 years and my flatmate), and that we were all students. Once i got the viewing the women (ANN) was not entirely pleased to see me. We went into the flat and she didnt really say anything, unlike most say fee free to look around and ask any questions. The flat was nice, however when i wanted to ask questions she again, just looked at me blankly. I then first started with the confirmation that at 1st there will be me and my flat mate, with my boyfriend moving after a few months. She then went No, we cant do that due to HMO licence. I explained that i had seen more than one two bedroom flat with the HMO licence and that all said that yes that my boyfriend could move in if he filled out the correct forms. She again told me that it was against the law. And looked at me awfully so i left.
Having feeling anger about wasting my time, i returned to my Halls (with my friend who is a law student) to look up the legislation regarding couples with and HMO, and found that we could live together if we were Married, Civil partners, or live together as husband and wife, a term of which we researched and found other legislation that stated long term realtionship, with future plans, stability etc etc.
Therefore every other Aberdeen based company is correct, and they are infact wrong, and i feel discriminated against for being a young student. I would understand if she explained that the company wasnt willing to risk the relationship and a third party, however her over all attitude and way around things was awful.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
What agent could do to change your mind?
Explain things over the phone about letting to students, and relationships, rather than wasting my time

If it makes you feel any better, they treat the landlords the exact same. After 1 year of not being able to rent out the property and keep me updated at any point during this period, I was given over the keys three months after they decided they didn’t want to handle the apartment any more- place was trashed, leather sofa arm rest totally destroyed and food still all over the kitchen- no proper handover procedure of due diligence on their side, my 10 year old nephew would have handled the prop ...
