I had about 4 different problems that could compromise our health/work and belongings. The big problem was caused by our above neighbour (1month ago), a huge leaking. We had to follow our neighbour to resolve our situation - and he made what he wanted WITHOUT supervision from Cottons.
To this day we have a room where we cannot open the door because of the bad smell coming from them wet wallpaper and carpet. The neighbour painted the ceiling after two days of a huge leak. I think everywhere in the world, it's known that you shouldn't paint a ceiling after 2 days of a huge leaking. But, for Cottons sounds normal, it was permitted. Ah the neighbour is responsive in the calls/emails, is enough for Cottons - how the neighbour do the works, doesn't matter 🤷♂️
Cottons sent us an email saying that they did everything to resolve the issues and that the house is habitable - and we have a room with a intense smell of painting /humidity for approximately one month! Ok, I pay the rent but I can't use the all house. Is it a joke?
I hope I can warn you to be careful about renting with them, if you have other options - don't choose this agency! I felt that they exceeded the limits of what is acceptable, from the moment that no one from Cottons set foot here to fix the issues/ or fix it and charge the neighbour/ or check the improvised works done by neighbour. They could have done anything, but they chose to do absolutely nothing to provide us a good stay.
Ultimately, it's always easier to blame someone else (in this case, my neighbour) than to admit your own mistakes - it is more comfortable to be sit than face the problem.
After all, I pay the full rent to Cottons (landlord) I don't pay the rent to my neighbour (I think so), in this case, could be.
Cotton's couldn't control the leaking from my neighbour, but it was possible to control the miserable work done by him during the past 3 months (and 4 leaks) 😏
Maybe you can invite him to live in the flat, as he was treated better than us.
Advice: Don't waste your time and use your energy to be respected.
