Absolutely shocking. The initial meeting was fine - agent was on time, friendly, informative but on reflection we were pulled in by his charm.
We agreed a sale within 10 days and the Sales Particulars gave an estimated exchange of 1st November. We had a brilliant tenant who moved out on 31st October. It took 6 whole months to exchange!!! And in that time we had to make 4 mortgage payments which may seem irrelevant in the grand scheme of things but we are average Joes and those additional mortgage payments has left us in financial difficulties. There was no sense of urgency from Springbok. They told us all buyers are on their books - I do not believe this to be true. It was only when we threatened to pull out of the sale that we saw any action.
Worst thing is Springbok got a £15,000 fee from the sale!
And when we submitted a compensation claim due to the delay and us being put in financial difficulties, Springbok said no.
Do not use them. Honestly, we would have been better off financially and the exchange would have been a lot quicker if we had gone down the traditional estate agent route! Do not be drawn in by the charm and promise of a quick exchange. It's not true.

We understand that one of our managers has internally addressed your complaint and can comment based on the investigation and response already provided to you. We have reviewed the early communications with you and the property acquisition manager, they did not intend to give you a false impression of our service or guaruntee a timeframe, rather to express their confidence in your property and considering that our average timeframes are below the national averages when looking at a straightforward transaction. We could not foresee the delays that occurred in your case, such as the delays with the management pack and the buyer's lender, they were unfortunately completely outside of our control. During the internal review, we found that your point of contact for conveyancing persistently chased all parties and kept you updated throughout this process, regardless of whether the update was what we desired. In terms of the estimated exchange date on the memorandum of sale that you received, this was exactly that- an estimate, and we do not encourage that parties whether the buyer or the seller to a transaction make any definite plans around these, and we can confirm that we did not lead you to believe that this would be a guaranteed date. The verbatim on the memorandum of sale document reads: Target Exchange Date - Estimated Exchange of Contracts By XX. Lastly, regarding a compensation claim, it is important to note that we need to consider what has or hasn't been within our control and our role as estate agents when evaluating claims for reimbursement. In this case, it is unfortunate there was not anything that we or any estate agent for that matter, could do, preventatively or reactively to have changed the timeframe outcome, due to the hold ups that originated outside of our control. We are sorry that you have been left dissatisfied following your experience with us. We would like to congratulate you on the completion and we do wish you all the best with this next chapter. Springbok Properties strives to provide a high standard of service to all our customers at all times. If you feel we have not achieved this in any way, we'd really like you to tell us.


If You Have a Complaint
If you're not happy for any reason, your first point of contact should be with the team handling the sale of the property. It doesn't matter if you are the vendor, a prospective buyer or you have purchased the property through us. The team you have been dealing with will get started on resolving any issues as soon as they are aware of the problem.
If they can't help, they will escalate you complaint within our internal complaint procedures. You will be contacted by a manager or assistant manager the same day if we can.
Sometimes a complaint can be complex, or requires some investigation on our part. You may feel you would like to make your complaint more formal. If that is the case, please feel free to contact us by email or post.

To help us get to the bottom of things quickly and allow us to provide you with a speedy response, it would really help if you could give us as much information as possible about your problem. If you can, tell us what you would like us to do to resolve your complaint.
