Hi everyone
I have been with Eastham & Co for almost 2 years
I want to share with you my experience about Eastham prior to moving into my own house.
Prior to vacating house, I hired a cleaner and waste services and paid approximately 700 £ to clean the house and was hoping to get my full deposit back.
Eastham sent their manager for final check and home inspection who then agreed that the upper storey was in very good condition and doesn't require any painting or carpet cleaning however the ground floor needed some carpet cleaning and painting. Listening to him, i thought in my mind that eastham will deduct small amount of my deposit which is acceptable however it came to me as a shock when they first told me that house is in a great mess and they will deduct 800 £ ( garden 90£, painting 400£,carpet cleaning 300£ ) which was then increased to 900£ later stating that some more area needs cleaning.
Now my argument is that Mike hurst ( home inspection manager ), Eastham representative never said that house is in great mess rather he said that upper storey looks well and doesn't require painting and carpet cleaning and lower storey needs some touching of the paintings and carpet cleaning then why Laura had to go against his statement saying that house is in great mess. Secondly Laura has charged initially 800£ then increased it to 900 £. Why did she has to increase it again. Thankfully they didn't tell me 3rd time that they are increasing charges again.
I ended up getting 200 £ from Eastham which was unfair which also means that whole house took 1650£ for cleaning which seems unbelievable. Its a huge amount for a house to clean.
In conclusion, I was in a state of shock with the fact that mike hurst and Laura had different views about the same house .Anyhow i left and feels happy to think that i don't have to deal with them again
