The most unprofessional and disappointing agent I've ever dealt with.
When I moved in I saw how dirty and unkempt the room was. The walls were extremely mouldy, and the bed mattress hasn't been cleaned or replaced at all for a long time so it had a lot of stains unremoved. Also, the kitchen had mouldy sealants and the cleaning tools (mop and broom) were kept in the same open space as for eating and cooking without any compartments to store them separately. On top of that, the property does not have any tumble dryer to get the clothes dried. This could be one of the causes of mouldy sealants and walls as they make the air cold and damp in general. The property management team does not seem to consider potential health risks that can arise from these issues at all and just treat tenants as their source of income only and nothing else.
Furthermore, even before I moved in, I had two occasions where the tenancy agreement did not match with what I requested for. On first occasion, I clearly told them that I do not wish to sign up for a Non-deposit scheme and yet in the tenancy agreement it indicated that I am signing up for it!! Had I not looked at it carefully, I would have ended up paying extra cost for it every month.
The next occasion was when I requested for a 6-month tenancy, they instead gave me a 12-month tenancy agreement for me to sign. This has caused some delays in getting the agreement signed both by myself and landlord, which could've caused a trouble with me moving out of my previous place by 31st December as the Christmas holiday was drawing near.
Based on my disappointing experiences I had so far, I get the impression that both the property agent and the landlord are not taking aforementioned issues seriously at all. Bluntly speaking, even a 1-star rating is far too generous for them but the system just doesn't allow me to give anything less than that.
So, in conclusion, do not even think of signing any tenancy agreements with Leaders even if you're on a tight budget. You definitely deserve more!
