Please, do not use move8 Edinburgh if you are purchasing a property. Nightmare!! I offered for a property may 2022. When you are offering you deal with a negotiator via phone call. She took all the details, asked if I was happy with the HR and said yes. There was a number 2 on the HR re dampness and wood boring insects, purchasers were advised to book a preservation company to have a look. My offer was accepted and I was appointed a trainee solicitor. He wasn't the best, slow to get back to me, even when I asked simple questions he would say I will get back to you, I chased him up quite a bit. When the money laundering was complete, I called the estate agent selling the house asking if I could now arrange for the preservation comany to get access, I was told "no access allowed, this should have been a condition of your offer". I was gobsmacked. It went downhill from there. My solicitor said not up to them to advise me of this, I should have known!!! I didn't know, I am not a solicitor, that's what I was paying them for. The sellers would not allow access for the preservation company, I said to my solicitor at that point, I think I am going to have to pull out, I didn't know the extent of the dampness etc and it wold be extremely risky for me to go ahead, he carried on at that point doing work towards me buying the property, goodness knows why. Long story short I had to pull out of buying the property, my ideal house, in a superb location, I had also left a superb final salary pension scheme to help finance it. Two weeks later I received a bill from move8. I called and complained, they said they had done nothing wrong. I didn't pay the bill. Fast forward 14 months I received a reminder for the bill. Called them again advising I am going to the law society, if I dont pay they are putting it in the hands of a debt collecting agency. Hind sight is a wonderful thing. If I had gone to my local solicitor she would have sat me down face to face and gone over the HR , thiscertainly would not have happened. A warning to people who are considering using them....please don't. They see useless, they gave me absolutely no help or advice. I ended up losing the home of my dreams, my pension and now have to pay a bill, a bill for no help at all. They should be ashamed of themselves. I am in the process of making a formal complaint with law society, fingers crossed. This is an honest review.
