If I could warn you. DO NOT buy a shared ownership property from Peabody.
Imagine saving up your whole life to buy a property and finally having everything in order. You pick a new building because it is clean and safe in a great area.
You are sold by the shiny brochure and it says you will be sharing the block with a majority of 'private rent' tenants.
You move in & you deal with littering, stolen parcels, fly-tipping, druggie neighbours, and anti-social behaviour.
The shared ownership floor has contacted Peabody numerous times to report several issues and all they do is send letters to residents reminding them not to fly tip or do drugs.
I don't mind living with DSS tenants, there are some nice people. But it is very clear that Peabody didn't vet who moved into what used to be a beautiful new build. These tenants do not care about a building that they get to live in for free. I care as I have a mortgage and living with these people has devalued the property due to the constant vandalism. I will never forgive Peabody for making the wrong decision to go to Greenwich Council during COVID without vetting tenant criminal backgrounds.

Peabody think it's acceptable to leave their tenants without water on numerous occasions in the block, they know there's a problem but won't pay for a permanent fix. Quick enough to demand their extortiante rent though ...

I had a solicitor and Peabody arranged to come and fix the damp, mold and all the broken down partd of the property. The problem is once they start the work the solicitor has no more power. They did every single room in the property. They tore down my living room ceiling and my bathroom wall. They didn't cover anything and I had to move out of the property for just over 2 weeks.
