Oakhill Estate Agents Isleworth
On April 26th, 2023, we received a confirmation of the house (420a london road, Isleworth) along with the move-in dates.
We confirmed the agency's contract and gave them a down payment of one month's rent:£1,200
Security deposit for five weeks: £1,384
Deposit held: £276
with £2,584 in total.
When the agency told us that we would be moving on June 13th, we returned to the agency on May 20th to provide the passport for verification.
On June 2nd, agent Vuk Kosanovic unexpectedly called and told us that we wouldn't be able to move in the following week because the house isn't ready to move into and it takes at least 3 months for repairs. He also shared photos with me that were present when my brother went to see the house. We said we were willing to wait for that time, but unexpectedly they said that might not be possible because they could raise the rent, which was all just an excuse. If they could have avoided advertising the house in the first place, this situation may have been lot better. If this is an experienced agency, they should have performed a full check instead of placing people like us in dangers.
The agreement was made for a two-bedroom home for £1,200, but Agent Vuk suggested a one-bedroom home for £1495 in exchange, which is bizarre given that this was outside of our price range. We also asked them for a solution, if not temporary housing while we looked for a new flat, but they were unwilling to do that either.
We arrived the same day to continue our discussion on what may be done. But since no assistance was given, we were really unhappy.
It's a nightmare trying to find a property in London, especially when you only have within a week.We were unable to return to the property where we had been living since new residents were moving in and we had nowhere else to go.
We were in extreme need of help and were still looking for a place on our level. And nobody offered us a lot of support. We spent months looking for an affordable house like this just to wind up in a situation like this while moving back and forth for this house.
Meanwhile we turned down so many offers just in the believe we will get this house. We had planned and changed a lot of things inorder to accommodate ourselves to the new place. We took internet connection, insurance and other services and we were eagerly waiting for the move . And the sad part is no one even cared to email us with what happened or apologise for it. The contract was signed ,and we feel it was a breach of contract ,as it is legally binding. But the estate agent refused and told the contract is not binding until the landlord signs it ,but they provided the same contract to us for getting the advances.
I feel mentally and physically exhausted and terribly disappointed. In addition, we will need to spend a lot of money on transportation from these locations to our workplaces, where we work. One poor decision made by the agency has made our lives miserable and put us in financial trouble. Being a foreign immigrant who has gone through the same thing twice in the United Kingdom, I feel as though my group is being discriminated against. I consequently need the freedom to feel differently and to be able to rest peacefully.
I feel the ratings now they get are really fake as this is the real truth. I hope people read this and understand how the world is and how this agency is.

Oakhill endeavour to help you find alternative accommodation, hence Vuk got in contact with you to offer you the only similar property available.
Your mention of discrimination is ridiculous. Oakhill have not, and will never, discriminate in any form.
