If I could have given minus stars I would have. I'm dying, and extremely vulnerable to all infection/covid. I fell for the claptrap when the girl came round and promised everything.
Once signed HEARNES don't give a toss. They knew I wanted a certain price, which I set £50k below what other agents advised. HEARNES promised I could walk away after the contract period was up, but then held me to another 4 weeks beyond that. After they totally screwed up the sale of my home. Which left me stuck with a vindictive agency, who endangered my life every time I had a viewing. We had a buyer offer £10k below our bottom asking price. But HEARNES told them to offer £5k less. Then failed to put the offer to us until almost a week later. By which time they'd advised the buyer to offer a further £5k below. So now they'd reduced the offer to £20k below the bottom line they knew we'd accept. They lied to us, saying it was a cash buyer. When the written offer came through it was conditional on the buyer's sale.
They failed to tell us that the buyer didn't have the funds to make the offer he was making. They tried to con us, telling us everything was OK, but when it got to exchange, they phoned and told us, ' Mr X, was not going to pay a penny more than £XXX'. Which was £25k down on the bottom line we'd accept, and £75k below what every other agency valued our home at. HEARNES thought we'd accept it, but luckily we weren't buying anything else or we'd have been stuck. All HEARNES did was waste the whole summer in which we would have found a real buyer who had the funds. Not one who was living in faerie land, dreaming of what the couldn't afford. In short, HEARNES schemed with the buyer, and didn't act in my interests at all. Every time the agent came round for a viewing, he lied to the prospective buyers. He'd walk in from the garden on a hot sunny day with sunglasses on and say 'ooh it's dark in here, I don't suppose you can do anything about that, anyway on to the next viewing, which is lovely and bright'. Even the buyer looked shocked at that one. But the worst bit was, he wore no mask, went for a pee in my bathroom, on three occasions, then without washing his hands, went around my whole house, opening and closing doors, cupboards, switching lights off, and locking up. Which seriously endangered my life. Thank god I have CCTV and viewed it each time.

Hearnes are a renowned and respected outfit who will go above and beyond to help those who are receptive to good and honest advise.
We are sorry that the author feels as they do, but as we have offered to help resolve the situation without charge due to circumstances, without responses , it seems there’s little more we can do.
