Chose Town and Country after meeting Duncan who offered me help with viewings for properties on their books alongside selling my flat. Overall, was very disappointed with the service. Didn't get any help with viewings - it was all talk - and the staff at the office are nice but totally inexperienced and pretty disorganised. I had mix ups with bookings and names of viewers. I was even told I had a verbal offer which they had written as £50,000 higher than it was.
I constantly spoke to different staff about offers and viewings so they didn't have a good idea of what was happening. They relied on 'reading the notes' which was clearly a struggle. When discussing the details of my sale, I often got the response 'I'll need to check with Duncan' as they didn't know what advice to give. One person called me and said they couldn't remember if they had updated me yet, and proceeded to have the exact same conversation that we'd had the day before until interrupted and said we'd already spoken. I had to chase for updates and wasn't made aware of a note of interest because the person who was supposed to be dealing with my sale had gone on holiday without letting me know.
As someone looking to buy, I had contact with the office to view their properties. This was just as disorganised. I asked to be updated about one property and later saw via Rightmove that it had sold. Nobody let me know.
My sale took months due to issues with the buyers. I didn't hear from Town and Country once during this time. I wrote to Duncan to say I felt disappointed with the service and he didn't even acknowledge it. Poor standards, and poor business etiquette.
