Too go from 1 star ratings over a period of time to loads of 5 star ratings on the same day, seems legit.
After phoning the office too book viewings and traveling a distance to get there to then wait for nobody to show up on 3 separate occasions. Then realising when looking in the window of the property that it was a repossession property, I put two and two together as they would have already have me of their own (back pocket) buyers interested. I then phoned to ask where the agent was with a response of sorry it's not in the diary and we have no record of you on our system.
After reading the reviews on this agent I decided to do a bit of digging after being let down on 3 or 4 separate occasions on viewings even though I made it clear that I am chain free and have the funds and proof available immediately.
I went onto the Westbrookes website to have a look at what they had to offer and according to their website they do equine, over seas, land, virtual tours of properties and are open 7 days a week. After phoning them I was told that they do not do any of these.
I then enquired how much they would charge me to manage a property of mine, I was told told that my 3 bedroom house would let for £500 maximum even though it is currently let out through WHBrown for £600 and that Westbrookes would charge me a flat rate fee of £75 plus vat per month when WHBrown are only charging me £50 plus Vat per month. After asking why so much I was told that they are the best in Nottingham and can offer a service higher then any other as they have direct contact with Housing Benefit and Housing Aid (so does every other agent).
While browsing through their site I saw a house that I wanted to buy a month prior and it was on the let. I then scrolled through their Lettings list (which is not advertised on right move) to find another 2 properties that I showed interest and booked viewings for when they were on the market for sale (when the agents did not turn up) .
I then phoned Westbrookes as a customer interested in letting one of these properties. I explained to the, that I have had a bad experience with landlords before that wouldn't do repairs before. I was then told "it's fine don't worry as this landlord has loads of properties through Westbrookes and they are good friends of the Director so we can get repairs done straight away" . Then I asked about the other property that was to let (that I wanted to buy) and I was told that "it would be a very good property to let as it is a Westbrookes house" I asked what a Westbrookes house is to then be told that the Director 'Andrew Hare' owns it and it has just been fully refurbished.
So the reason I could not buy any of these repossession houses ( which legally have to sell for the highest price) is because Andrew Hare has been keeping them for his "good friends"' and himself which I am positive is very illegal.
I have have now gathered some email evidence from myself to Westbrookes, phone calls and the properties that I wanted to buy and are now on the let through Westbrookes and will be contacting the bank/repossession company's to have a conversation.
If this happens to any of you then it's easy to contact the repossession company involved with the house as they have a piece of paper in the window and tape in the houses with their company name on it. Google the name and hay-presto.
I just wanted to exposed Westbrookes for the crooks they really are. If they spent more time on customer service and actually doing their job correctly then writing bogus reviews online then they might not get un-happy customers.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Stop being cowboys
