Absolutely heartbroken .
For the past few weeks myself and my Fiancé were excepted on our offer to buy a house that Clee Tompkinson Morriston branch were selling.
We have paid out a lot of money for everything. We basically were only couple of weeks away from completing.
Last week there was a slight issue where on our side for literally less than 24 hours had a problem with my fiancé's buyer.
So I phoned and explained the situation that my fiancé's buyer had dropped the price of his offer.
So Clee put the house we were buying back up for sale , in fact it was "onthemarket.com" within less than 24 hours. Plus a For sale sign also put on in less than 24 hours.
This happened as they wouldn't except a lower offer from us.
We were devastated, so we sat down and within LESS THAN 24 HOURS we came back up to the same price, providing the funds needed.
The seller fully agreed as long as we were solid and didn't have any issues she would 100% continue going forward. The house was ours we were told . Tracey said on the phone that the seller had had couple of offers in that 24 hours but wouldn't take them as long as we kept the price as it was. Which we did
Little did we know. Even though it took them just a couple of hours to remove the sold sign to a for sale sign .
The seller I've been told today by Tracey on the phone , advised Clee & Thompkinson to keep the For Sale sign up. At this point we should have been informed. We were not.
We luckily decided to drive past the house we were buying the night before last, we saw the for sale sign up . I said to my Fiancé... I have a feeling they are still selling it, advertising it, but keeping us on the side, as we were spending our money plus we were fully invested in it.
So I rang the office yesterday I spoke to Ashley. Who was blunt on the phone ( which is usual ) when I mentioned the fact the for sale sign was still up.
She said " I need to tell you something while your on the phone to me , the house has been sold . "
I was stunned. I had no knowledge of this prior. No one had rung us
I also found it extremely odd, unprofessional to not have told us the property was still up for sale to be seen .
Which is what happened apparently. By leaving the for sale up at the vendors request . She had an offer she excepted and only when I rang them, did they disclose it to me .
We had already spent extra money on top for the moving since being promised she wouldn't entertain any other offers , so I couldn't understand how I can be told . " sorry its been sold "
It was sold to us. We were told it was 100% ours the seller had said this.
But Clee and Thompkinson were very aware she had asked for the for sale sign to remain up , I was told today by Tracey.
They were obligated to tell us this , plus obligated to tell us of another offer that was made on it , which never happened but instead kept that hidden. We are stunned and appalled at this awful service .
We ended up wasting more money.
If we hadn't have driven past the house the night before and seen the for sale sign still up. Then I wouldn't have had that phone call at that point telling me its sold..... to someone else .
No one contacted us .
Why except our offer and ask us to promise to solidly move quick on the same and come through if sneakily , your leaving your house up for sale and not telling us, which then ment we were still invested wasting our time and money.
We are getting married in 10 weeks , this has now left us in an awful situation, of no home together.
I have made a formal complaint to the office this morning , as per legal instruction. Depending on the outcome I will be then moving our complaint to the ombudsman.
On conclusion - Very sneaky. Under handed. From the beginning the customer service / professionalism wasn't great on the phone, this was pointed out by myself and my Fiancé to Clee & Thompkinson . But we moved on from that after an apology.
This is absolutely disgraceful way of dealing with business .
It's left myself and my Fiancé feeling the estate agents have been very under-handed here.
I have no trust in Estate agents since this happened yesterday.
Plus it's left us with a lot of wasted money .
We will be seeking for a refund on what we have lost .
