I've been an avid follower of The Modern House for a while and I shortlisted them to sell my very new and curated 2 bedroom flat. In the end, I gave TMH sole selling rights as the appraisal process went very well and they obviously understood the value of my property.
However, things started going downhill as I was passed onto the Sales team. TMH's marketing speaks for itself if you have a property they deem is good enough, but the middle and lower tiers on their platform do not get the exposure which followers would expect from their experience of following their social media. I was not convinced that our sales advisor had the same appreciation of my property as the person who did the appraisal, and they would show me extremely low offers despite knowing our expectations.
When we finally accepted an offer, the sales advisor constantly pushed me on my personal phone/email instead of working directly with my solicitor. They even insisted on taking short cuts to adhere to demands from the buyer/buying agent, rather than being the middle-man and supporting both sides. In the end, I sold the flat and I'm very relieved to be done with that sales advisor. I am terribly disappointed by TMH and regret my decision, but at least now I know.
