Crikey what a damning review of Steve who heads up the team at WPR Farnham. To call someone a liar in a public forum like this is a strong accusation indeed. As Senior Partner of WPR straight away I spotted the review I contacted that Branch and undertook an investigation. Although I can fully appreciate your frustration at the circumstances regarding your proposed purchase, I do think that perhaps you are being a little unfair to Steve. I appreciate that when a vendor decides to change buyer and accept a higher offer on a home that they are selling it is a devastating blow to the first party, but I wonder if in this instance your review is a case of ‘shooting the messenger’. The law is unequivocal that all offers that we receive on a property must be put to the seller and then the seller decides what they want to do. In this instance our vendor/seller is in fact an executer who is acting for a vulnerable owner. The executor has a legal duty to do what is best for the owner. Given that the winning bid was from someone not involved in a chain and for a far higher amount then you offered the decision the executor made was in their opinion in the best interest of their vulnerable seller leaving Steve in the unfortunate position of having to report the devastating news to you.
This sort of situation results in a situation when a potential purchaser can understandably feel deeply upset and disappointed. Since your comments are in a public forum I must in Steve defence say that your depiction of him as an “unprofessional liar who treats people like dirt” is far from my experience of Steve who I have always found to have great kindness, decency and integrity. Furthermore, as an aside I can tell you that the Farnham team were genuinely hoping that you were successful in securing this home and explained to the executor how committed and enthusiastic you were but the LA based executor was adamant and pragmatic in their decision.
If you do want to contact me directly then my personal email is [email protected] but in the meantime I truly hope that you are successful in finding the perfect home. Regards, Tim B, Senior Partner, Warren Powell-Richards
