''I've tried to call you a couple of times.' Is one of the standard opening lines when Brand Vaughn haven't returned a call or an email request.
As a landlord, I paid Brand Vaughn to manage on of my properties. I was appalled at the lack of service and professionalism of their staff. On one occasion, the took it upon themselves to cancel the survey booked to remortgage the property without my consent or knowledge. Had I not telephoned the mortgage company, my fixed rate would have spired and my mortgage would have trebled. They rearranged the survey for a date after their management period ended. The staff couldn't care less about the landlord.
Another time, I needed minor electrical works completing and what should have cost £200 or so cost an eye watering £1000. I was charged £250 for a bath panel!
Brand Vaughn do not filter anything from the tenant, despite fully managing the property. I would have been better off managing it myself.
I was shouted at on one occasion by a member of staff on the phone which took my breath away. No-one is ever available to take a call and I never experienced any consistency in service, ever.
The tenant had the locks changed and employed a bouncy castle hire guy to supply and fit. The locks were clearly not properly fitted and would invalidate the insurance. I asked Brand Vaughn repeatedly to get them changed but they wouldn't. I also asked repeatedly for a written confirmation from a locksmith that they were properly fitted but again, nothing. They simply couldn't care less about a landlords property or a landlords liability.
I am currently asking for the return of my keys every day and every day am promised they will drop them off. They never do. This is day 19 I am waiting. I turn up to collect them at my local office and am then told they are at another. When I call the other office, guess what, they are not there!
I could go on and on and on about the shoddy behaviour of this outfit but I guess you've got the gist.
The tenant took some of my property when they moved but can I get any assistance or update from Brand Vaughn, of course not.
Just avoid using them if you are a landlord, it could cost you a fortune if you do.
I am happy to provide email and receipt evidence to support this review.
I'm still waiting for my keys!
