Beware landlords - Entwistle Green are all sweetness and light when they want you to sign up to rent a property though them, but as soon as you say you no longer want to continue (after 12 months and giving all the required notice) they turn the charm right off. They withhold money, they do not call back when they say they will, communications with this branch have been dire to say the least. I invoked their own complaints policy in which they state they will respond in writing within 15 days with the outcome of the complaint, got no response. Please also be aware that they claim if you ever cease your terms of business with them (no matter that you give the required notice) you will have to pay them a £600.00 cease management fee even if your tenant leaves the property at the end of the agreement. Therefore, having paid a set up fee and 12 months management fee you will also owe them £600, I am having this looked into needless to say, as according to the branch and the way they are interpreting this I will never be able to cease the contract with them without paying this fee, yet I only signed up for a 12 month period, though they say the contract is a rolling one - so how am I ever going to be able to cease it??? If this is the case I feel strongly that I was mis-sold this agreement by Entwistle Green and it's staff.
What agent could do to change your mind?
They could improve their communications. Stop saying they will call back when they don't. Staff were telling me things that were clearly not true.
