Townends, Whitton, both sold my Mother's house and helped her purchase her new home. It is to this end that I am happy to write a testimonial as I cannot commend enough the team based at the Whitton branch of Townends.
For many years Estate Agents have borne the brunt of much derision and criticism, sometimes deserevedly so, but for Townends this simply is not the case. From day one they have shown that despite being an efficient business, they truly care for their clients, both buyers and sellers ( and no doubt Landlords and Tenants too ).
My Mother, a senior citizen was downsizing her property and having approached Townends to sell the house, she immediately noticed the personableness of the staff without any intimidating hard sell in your face attitude.They reassured her that they would always be in attendance at viewings which was of great comfort to her.they were always punctual and when a potential viewer cancelled, they informed my Mother immediately and apologetically. This happened rarely as the staff at Whitton were particularly good at filtering out time wasters.
Also reassuring to my Mother was the fact that she was never passed from pillar to post amongst the sales' team, and in effect had her own personal Estate Agent who dealt with her case on its own individual needs and merits though ensuring a second named person was in place to ensure continuity during potential unforseen absences. Both Jo and Richard made her feel at ease and always went the extra mile. Ultimately, Mum felt more like she was working in partnership with colleagues / friends rather than the ubiquitous and anonymous sale's person.
Whenever there were any problems or stressors in the process of selling her house, and indeed there can be many, Jo and Richard always made time for her and offered expertise and kindness, traits which seem endemic to the whole team at Townends, Whitton. Many a time they came to the rescue with either practical solutions or good advice; they never passed the buck but were always proactive in their actions.They genuinely seemed to want to make selling her house as painless and stress free as possible, and ultimately this was achieved as the process from start to finish was speedy, professional, thorough and dependable.
Having sold her house, my Mother had hoped to buy a flat through a private sale but the vendor backed out at the last minute. Consequently, on her behalf, I trawled the local Estate Agents to research availability of suitable and affordable accommodation on the market at that time. Even though some months had passed from when Townends had sold her house, and I had only been a supportive role to my Mother as opposed to being the actual vendor, when I walked in to the Whitton office of Townends, I was greeted by name, my Mother was remembered, and this personal investment in the individual rather than figures and sales, felt very special and heartening. Once again, Townends began to help my Mother providing unparalled service in helping her purchase a new property.
The other Estate Agents I had visited seemed barely interested in my Mother's extensive list of needs, wants, location and particularly so when I mentioned her top rate of affordability, it being very much at the lower end of their property portfolio. The attitudes seemed almost derisory and at times arrogant and they showed very little in terms of professional presentation and customer care.
Townends were quite the opposite. Having nurtured such a positive relationship with my Mother during the sale of her house, they simply knew her, what would suit, where and also what she could afford. They did not waste her time with a glut of pointless and inappropriate viewings; she was treated with respect and in no time at all they had found her the property she fell in love with and subsequently bought.
Even when she moved in, Jo and Richard were around to advise and offer support in any way that they could. It does not matter whether you are a first time buyer, a growing family, or a downsizing retired person, Townends, Whitton make you feel special and deliver on everything as well as going above and beyond.
My Mother and myself would without hesitation reccommend Townends, Whitton to all potential buyers and sellers. Words cannot adequately express our gratitude to them as well as acknowledging their friendly and uniquely superior approach to the world of real estate.

At first the fees and how they're structured seemed duanting but Townends were very upfront about them in their documentation which is good. Personally we have benefitted from reduced fees for certain items and are very happy with the service we are receiving so no complaints.
