*Please read this! We have had our house on the market with D B Roberts & Partners for two months, and are waiting for our contract to expire to allow us to change agents!

We put our house up for sale with D B Roberts & Partners in November 2012, following a great buying experience with them three years before. We had no reservations about trusting them to market our house to the best of their ability, and even when they gave us a shockingly low valuation, we decided to proceed as we wanted a quick sale.

However, this has not been the case, for the following reasons:

Three weeks after agreeing to sell through them, the particulars had not been produced, and the sign was nowhere to be seen.

Two months down the line, the particulars online consist of a summary, pictures and a floor plan. NO part of the write up details anything specific about the house.

The photographs they took, which we paid £150 for (including EPC), were absolutely shocking - so bad we produce our own for them to add to the particulars. One picture they posted was of the bathroom, but only showed the loo!

Of the five viewings they have arranged, only one viewer turned up. Obviously, they have no control over this, but they made NO effort to contact the people who didn't show up.

When we have tried to call them, the line rings out. This concerns me, considering it is the same line potential buyers are using!

The staff who answer the telephones sound like they'd rather be elsewhere, which isn't good in a sales environment.

We had a friend drop into their Shrewsbury office to ask for some details; the man who gave our friend the details about our house didn't even bother to discuss the house with her. The details were also printed on paper with half of another house's particulars on the back". NOT impressive.

Do not waste your time or money on this bunch of cowboys.

Comment on agent fees
As we sold through the modern method of auction with D B Roberts the buyer paid the agents fees. Therefore it was win win for us as vendors.
