I have absolutely no regrets about choosing Cameron Stephen for the purchase of my first property. From start to finish they were beyond excellent. They have so many resources and materials for you to educate yourself with as a first time buyer, and are more than happy to help you out personally too. They are not snooty about you not understanding the process (others I looked for quotes from really were, sadly) – Cameron Stephen & co were happy to answer any and all questions during the process, no matter how stupid they were in retrospect. During the stages of noting interest and putting offers in I was looked after by Jayne McAllister who was an absolute joy – so warm and friendly, and unbelievably speedy with her replies. The second I thought 'maybe I should drop her an email' I'd check my inbox and found she'd already contacted me earlier in the day, it was almost spooky how 'on it' she was! In addition, she made it clear she wouldn't let me make any silly decisions, counselling me on timing of offers and on price. She also rang me personally to tell me my offer had been accepted, congratulating me with genuine enthusiasm which was a lovely personal touch. After telling my friends about my experience with her I am getting messages from their friends asking me to put them in touch with her – I was that thrilled! Once the offer had been verbally accepted I was passed over to Fiona Duff, aided by Fiona White. Dealing directly with Fiona D, I felt fully comfortable that there was no detail she would miss, and she also kept me fully informed. Along with being super diligent she was really warm and personable (and patient with my impatience when I didn't realise how long qualified acceptance was likely to take, thanks Fiona!). If you are buying property – first time or not – I cannot recommend Cameron Stephen & co enough. Compared to competitors in Edinburgh they are very fairly priced, and very transparent. How much I would be paying and what for was made crystal clear down to each and every line item, and my initial fees quote (inclusive of VAT – unlike competitors who try to disguise the full cost) was exactly what I ended up paying. Overall: so warm, professional and diligent, and as a very anxious person going through a very scary and very expensive process I never once felt uncomfortable. Thank you so much Jayne & Fiona & Fiona.
