Golettings agreed a sale with me of a rental property with cash. All searches etc were carried out, only the exchange of contracts was left. Then suddenly my solicitors became strangely silent in every way. Property prices had just shot up. The seller gazumped. Golettings staff made contradictory statements on the telephone and failed to give anything in writing. Both the estate agent and the seller benefited from the gazumping and are jointly involved. My solicitors conduct does not seem innocent either. Perverse gains could be possible here. Golettings failed to prevent gazumping though I got a new solicitor to speed this up. They are therefore unreliable and imprudent to use.
