A very good start... then a descent into hell.
Let me explain: we found this agency, took the necessary steps to obtain the apartment for rent and we stayed there for 6 months, 6 months during which we maintained a good relationship with the agency: correct service, we made ourselves available for visits etc.
The day we left the apartment, we were very surprised by their behavior: the inventory of fixtures was clearly not the same as the one when we moved in (very detailed photo in order to find the smallest trace of dust), then, we are asked to pay the sum of about ~550 pounds sterling because of that (the cleaning was done twice, by us and a professional). And we are told that we have to repaint the whole apartment because of a cigarette smell (we are not smokers). We contest this amount, which brings us to the next point: the agency threatens us to increase the price to ~£850 if we want to make a « dispute »… Apparently the agency can increase the fee as it pleases! I'm writing this message 5 months later after I got my entire deposit back and won the dispute, to tell you that this agency may seem very friendly at first but will do anything to rip you off afterwards. If I hadn't gone to dispute, I would never have gotten my deposit back. And I was lucky to have been able to wait so long without that money, as well as having time off to put the files together. In short, avoid if you don't want any bad surprises in the future.

Unfortunately your account below is factually incorrect. Hillview was simply mediating between yourself and our landlord client, who was well within his rights to opt to deal with the deposit dispute himself. Your award was 100% based on the landlord missing the sensitive deadline to submit his evidence which resulted in your deposit being returned by default. There were significant end of tenancy issues as outlined in the INDEPENDENT inventory report at the end of your tenancy, including concerns around the condition in which the property was returned however, the DPS is mandated to adhere to legal protocol. The end result here is that a landlord has been left significantly out of pocket by tenants whose requests were accommodated beyond his obligations during the tenancy. We wish you all the best.

Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
