We have had problems with William H Brown from the very start. To begin with, we were told that we would be paying a certain amount for fees in total before moving in and that was the total amount. When we came to pay the fees, we were told we were to pay an inventory fee on top - despite being told previously that we did not have to pay this. Our landlord was equally annoyed and so asked for this to be removed. We had several problems getting hold of anyone in the office prior to move in to answer our questions - we emailed them our questions and they called us back a fair few day after, but we could not answer. They did not leave a message. We called them back to be rudely told that we were supposed to know why William H Brown had called as and we 'should've listened to the message properly' - the message they didnt leave us. Several times regarding problems we have called the office but have only managed to speak to someone once.
The latest problem has been regarding our sewage, which had backed up. We had no problem internally so I called William H Brown to ask them what we should do and was told that it would be sorted. I called later (at 3.30pm) to let William H Brown know that despite being out all day at work we now had other people's faeces up to the seat level in our toilet and we needed it sorted immediately as not only could we not use the toilet but it posed a serious health risk. By 7.30pm we had heard nothing from the agent regarding it being sorted and so resolved to call Anglian Water ourselves, who immediately sent someone out to deal with it. Why William H Brown couldnt have done this when I called them at 3.30pm is unclear, and seemingly would've been the best option. I have now resolved to speak to the landlord and contractors directly regarding issues as William H Brown are completely incompetent and do not care either for the health of the properties they look after or those residing inside them.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Been available to speak
Sorted out emergency issues urgently, rather than disregarding them entirely
Been clear about their charges rather than adding hidden fees after saying there were none
