Do you enjoy showing up to a move in time/date with staff that aren't aware of it? Do you like painfully unreliable internet? Maybe you're a fan of having agents casually letting themselves into your flat AFTER you've moved in? What about fire alarms that ring for hours on end? Insufferably rude and incompetent staff are your bag? Then the Lightbox is the place for you!
I've never felt compelled to write a review for anything, but I would feel guilty that more people voluntarily move into this building without being aware just how awful it really is.
If the company's criminal history doesn't put you off, or the damning reviews on Google (which hilariously have been deleted from Google entirely), then your first few interactions with Jade Ata should hopefully be enough to save you from making a huge mistake.
I have never encountered anyone so profoundly rude, unprofessional or lacking in self-awareness. No class or humility whatsoever - if you expect an apology from her for the many, many mistakes then you’re dreaming. Having spoken to some of the other members of staff, it’s clear that the find her as unbearable as the tenants do.
Genuinely a nasty piece of work is no overstatement. Her attitude is repulsive and it's bewildering how someone like that is Managing Director of a City Living Portfolio... but then you discover that daddy owns the company and suddenly it all starts to make sense. Any business owner hiring on merit would have given her the sack long ago, but nepotism is stronger than business sense, clearly.
As far as actually living at the Lightbox - the rooms are okay, look decent enough for the price. But again, the "high speed internet" is hopeless and unreliable, crashing constantly. It is not uncommon to see people's mobile hotspots pop up because there is no other options. Not to mention, it's a public WiFi network, anyone walking by can access it and it would be super easy for anyone with basic coding knowledge to hack into it, when it does work - be warned.
I am angry with myself for choosing this agency and this building. I wish I had found the many, many accurate reviews tearing this company apart before I had settled. Do not make the same mistake.
PS - The £75 "cleaning fee" is outrageous and more importantly NOT legally enforceable. You do NOT legally have to pay this - it's just another attempt by the money hungry Jade to squeeze every last penny out of those who aren't savvy enough to know better.

I'm sorry that you, like so many others have had to deal with Jade and Gary and the monsters who are Noble. They scammed me into a 12 month contract at over £1000 per month for a studio apartment which hadn't been built yet, top floor apartment with a broken elevator and a concrete stairway with no hand rail.

Hi Ruby, very sorry to hear that. Unfortunately I made the biggest mistake in renting with Noble at the Lightbox this year. I signed for a flat but just under two weeks before I was due to move in Jade told me I couldn't have it. I have also had the displeasure of talking to 'Kylie' who is very rude and blunt. Kindly note that legally, letting agents need to publish information about their tenancy fees, government-approved redress schemes and client money protection schemes on their website and on third party websites (on which agents are listed). For properties to lease/rent in England, agents need to keep this information up to date and precise on allAgents or specify within the property description.
