Creating an advert is easy enough, and the sysem to set out requirements is clear and helpful.
But if you need any customer sercive from them then good luck, because it's pretty much worse than non-existant, it's full of false promises - the Landlord customer service is only email based, hidden behind telephone based general admin.
First time using Openrent, I've had an issue with a prospective tenant witholding information from me that their joint tenant couldn't actually legally rent in the UK. 2 weeks of reference checks later, I found this out - Openrent themselves advised me to pursue part of the holding deposit as I had been misled and it would actually be illegal for me to rent to them.
Soon dawned on me over repeated emails over the weeks that the Landlord team don't actually check any evidence you give them and take any concerns you have seriously.
- 5 times after calling customer service I had promised callbacks by 6pm that never occured
- Very slow response emails that ignored the evidence I submitted
Want to highlight particularly 'Lisa C' of the Openrent Landlord team who was unprofessional in dealing with the situation which was becoming more tense with the tenant. She was slow in reponding while the tenant became more agitated, I often had to repeat the same conversation, and failed to call back over 5 times, until I was forced to reject the tenancy due to harassment - and then for the first time quickly came back to me that as I released the deposit, there was nothing she could do. You get a strong impression that they're really not bothered if you get into trouble.
