Sadly unable to submit a Zero star review, as only that can adequately explain our experience with the property Agent.
We rented a property in 2017, admittedly our first time coming to Bristol, and we initially spotted problems soon soon after our move.
Firstly, all the paperwork was filled with errors, mistypes and fraknly poor grammar. But most importantly, they got the address of the property wrong. I'm not talking a small typo, I mean the street name, building name and postcode where of something completely different. We first thought we were wrong or had made a mistake, but after checking with Royal Mail address listings and Council Tax Registeries, we took the correct info to the Letting Agent, who looked at us like we were crazy. Took them 2 years to get this changed.
3 Months into our Tenancy, water started coming out of our electrical sockets and outlets. We immediately notified them of the issue, and they did nothing. And I mean nothing, we had to get the building management to help us and get it fixed. They never inspected the property to check on this and wouldnt even provide us with alternative accommodation, a requirement under law and their own contract.
They sent "contractors" to our home without telling us or giving us due notice, also illegal and completely in breach of contract.
They fail to carry out safety checks, such as boiler and electrical inspections, which highlights how much they care about the safety of their tenants.
They will raise your rent, for no reason other than "inflation" and yet they cant seem to actually mathematically calculate what this is.
We unfortunately stayed a year longer at that property than we would have liked, as Covid hit us and unfortunately put our financial future into question.
You would think that once we found a new place to live, this would be the end of it, but you would be wrong.
They attempted to charge us for professional cleaning, which is illegal under new Tenancy laws.
They made a claim of £200 of our deposit for "dusty skirting board" and "some inside the oven". We contested this and luckily the DPS Dispute Reolution saw the ridiculous of this claim and did not award them this.
These Agents are fraudsters, liars and quite simply imcompetent. They will try to use the system against you, and will only cause you stress and grief.
Avoid this company, they are radioactive.
Apologies for the long review, but I hope this helps others see these Agents for what they are.
