Bridgfords in Manchester are pretty horrendous. The only two people who are nice, friendly and helpful are Daniel and Jo. Everyone else we spoke to has been rude, flippant, and even accused us of not paying.
To be honest, I should have known considering we moved into a flat that was supposed to be cleaned and painted and it had food up the walls, yellow blind, dirt everywhere that this was not going to a great start.
We had an early tenancy agreement exit which the landlord agreed to do if another tenant is found. This was a stressful process as the staff put a pic of the front of the building on right move and that’s it, so obviously not a lot of interest rolled in and we were liable until august having just bought a house. So we were keen to get a new tenant.
I finally spoke to Jo and Daniel who were super helpful and asked me to supply some good pics of the flat, they uploaded them and surprise surprise lots of interest and someone took the flat.
We left at the beginning of May, we were told by one of the Charlotte’s to only pay the days we were going to be there (around £140), when we rang to confirm this with one of the other Charlotte’s she was incredibly rude to my partner, toldhim there were no notes to reflect that and “we can’t just pay what we want when we want” - I have literally never experienced a professional speaking to someone like that, she was really condescending and made it out like it was our fault.
Fast forward a few weeks, we paid the full rent for the month of May, despite moving out on the 3rd May and we were told we would get a refund of the extra we paid (£610) once the new tenant was in. They moved in on the 10th as per confirmation from Bridgfords
We have rang every day to check on this and they said it was being processed, I rang again today and it was told “there is no evidence of you paying”....
We sent the evidence (receipt sent to us by bridgfords) and now they’re processing it again.
The biggest issue is the miscommunication, nobody noting anything on the account, staff “not being able to see payments” we have paid, and literally no one talking to each other. I would steer very clear of this estate agents if you work full time and can’t be dealing with ringing them to chase absolutely everything.
It’s a shame, as Jo and Daniel are actually really good and helped us massively. There are a few people in that office that need some customer service and account training and I really genuinely feel for anyone else having to deal with the majority of them. It’s been an absolute shambles.
