Ali is a very likeable and relatable agent. He has a pleasant and calming personality. He valued our Bethnal Green ex-council flat quite highly, in relation to other agents, and his valuation reflected the high demand in our area better than other agents' valuations. Even though we did our own viewings, Ali often offered to do viewings himself without extra charge, he was easily contactable, and he did sales work behind the scenes to get us cash buyers.
In the end, it turned out that Ali was a little optimistic in terms of banks' willingness to issue mortgages for a flat like ours in the current context. This optimism led to us accepting an offer from a buyer with an agreement in principle when we should not have done so. Gradually, it transpired, quite late in the day that a) the buyer was unable to get a mortgage and b) Ali was not keeping in touch with him and was under the impression he did get his mortgage. The chain eventually fell through. Ali had the best of intentions but it would have helped if he insisted for our buyer to apply for a mortgage before we took the flat out of the market, or if we waited for a cash buyer, given that there was a healthy interest in our flat. In the end, I am not sure if our direct communication with buyers via the Yopa platform undermined Ali's attempts to negotiate or if it was a good thing...

This person is hitting out at Yopa and myself due to a buyer of her property reducing their offer, following a survey which showed some major problems with the property, and would have cost a lot of money to rectify. It's a shame that some people write untruthful and inaccurate reviews due to situations that are not the companies or agents fault.
