My husband and I used to love Street's Ahead. In fact as far as the lettings team is concerned we still do despite the problem we had with our dog.
However, SA property management team is horrible. For our first property we had Janice as our manager. Janice is super nice, unfortunately her charisma does not solve problems. We lived for three months at 32C and asked her several times to get some problems we had at the house fixed (hallway light broke, heating in the bathroom didn't work, lights would flicker whenever an appliance was turned on, etc) and none of it was done. We understand she had health issues along the way and had to be hospitalised, but someone should have taken over on her behalf. Instead every time we called SA, we were told she would be back "next monday" and get back to us, which never happened. Janice also never returned our calls (something that seems to afflict the whole team) and we would only manage to speak to her if we went to the agency in person.
After three months at 32C, we had to move out due to a minor mistake on SA part (we told them we were going to have a dog, they said it wasn't a problem, it ended up being one), which was resolved promptly by the lettings team. However,
since we moved out from 32C, we had nothing but issues with them regarding getting our monies back.
Our deposit and overpaid rent was released by the landlord on 24th of November and by 7th of December it had not been transferred back to us. We went to the agency (as this is the only way to get anyone to speak to you) and managed to get a new manager: Louise. At first it was awesome. Louise managed to move part of our monies to pay the rent of our current property and sent over a handyman to fix some of the issues the new property had. But now, one month later, we are still waiting to receive the outstanding balance from what was due to us.
By waiting I mean: we have called them, went to the agency in person and written several emails asking nicely to get our money back, but all we hear back are excuses (the latest one being that they are understaffed, which REALLY isn't my problem).
Again, don't get me wrong, on a personal level Jon, Nick, Janice and Louise are wonderful people, but I just don't care for any of that any more. I just want to get our money back.
What annoys me the most is that whenever they needed money from us, we would receive several calls and we ALWAYS paid what we had on time and arranged for money to pay unexpected expenses promptly. The same curtesy has not been extended to us.
Not to mention that if we were to pay our rent late, we would be penalised and have to pay interest, so I find unacceptable that SA won't be penalised nor have to pay interest for taking over a month to return our monies to us.
What a shame. I really thought that our relationship with SA would be good.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Just stop making excuses and give us the money due to us.
