I've had nothing but issues with Leaders...
Firstly on moving back to Derby I'd viewed several properties but the 1 I settled on was unfortunately through Leaders. Paid deposit, filled everything out and gave the date I needed to be moved by.
Not dealing with a lettings agent before I constantly checked everything was ok, the week before moving I spoke to them saying that on the day I was moving I would need to make payment, sign everything, collect the keys and be moved in by 2pm as I needed to be in London by 4pm, to which I was told that would be fine. About 20mins from Derby after moving from Northampton I had a phone call saying I couldn't move in as they couldn't confirm my employer even though on several occasions I had informed them that I didn't work for a UK company.
What was totally disgusting was right up till 2 days before moving I was told everything was fine and I was ok to move, when I spoke to the manager I was told "you wouldn't have been told you're ok to move if we hadn't had confirmation regarding your employer" and they were insistent that I was wrong and the agent would never have said that, until I explained that ALL contact via phone was made on my works mobile which for the purpose of my job records ALL conversations and offered to provide them with the evidence, In the end I had to pay 6mths upfront and even though I told them prior that I needed to be in London for 4pm I was kept waiting until gone 6pm before finally collecting the keys.
After a few months I decided to look for somewhere else and requested a few viewings, thinking that the previous incident was a '1 off' gave them another chance, without going into to much detail let's just say the following happened.
• Was sent a virtual viewing with the message "you're the first to see this" to me replying after viewing I was interested, following up the following day with a phone call to be told it's gone.
• Asking to view a property and once they took my details told it had been let
• Requested another viewing to receive a call saying that "due to me having a CCJ I couldn't be considered" which is understandable but when I told them I hadn't got 1 was asked to hold whilst they checked, to then be told I had and "surely you must be aware you have", obviously I wasn't aware so I ran 3 credit checks as well as asking the accounts office at work to check and.... Surprise Surprise there's NO CCJ's
Disgusting and the only reason I'm guessing their so popular is because they're cheap

100% agree with your write up I have had a nightmare with them. And your are right about being passed around departments I now know the internal workkngs of leaders... Everything is a separate departments unbelievable and they pass you around and then have additional people to deal with it becomes a joke. ...
